As a parent, I was impressed by how much my child gained from these classes. They learned practical strategies for managing stress and anxiety, and the supportive group environment helped them realize they weren’t alone. The skills they developed were especially valuable during finals week.
Aiyana’s Sunday sessions were an important part of my daughter’s journey through recovery from an eating disorder. After each session, she would come home feeling calmer, more focused, and better equipped to manage the challenges she was facing. The breathing exercises and nighttime meditation practices Aiyana taught her became part of her daily routine and, in many ways, benefited our entire household. I truly believe that Aiyana’s guidance played a meaningful role in my daughter’s recovery and helped her reconnect with her authentic self. Even now, she continues to attend Aiyana’s sound baths, which provide a valuable opportunity to step away from the pressures of school and everyday life and find a sense of peace and balance.
I am deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and support Aiyana provided during one of the most difficult periods of my daughter’s life. Her positive impact on our family is something I will always appreciate.
These classes gave my teen tools they can actually use when they feel overwhelmed. They appreciated being part of a group of other teens facing similar challenges, which made the experience more engaging and meaningful. When finals arrived, they felt noticeably more confident and prepared.
I enrolled my teen hoping they would learn ways to handle academic pressure, and the results exceeded my expectations. The sessions balanced skill-building with a positive group setting where students could connect and support one another.
This program helped my child develop healthy coping skills that continue to benefit them beyond the classroom. The group format created a welcoming environment where they felt comfortable participating and learning from peers.
The breath practices were a nice was to help my body wake up in the morning and a great way to help me relax and sleep. I feel like I tried to think more positively about myself and other things and I noticed myself rewording my thoughts from negative into a more neutral or positive phrase. I feel like my anxiety levels have gone down and that I am more focused when doing homework or other tasks.
I've noticed that I haven't been stressed throughout the day when I use the breath practices. I noticed almost no stress about the future, which I usually get a lot. When I felt a little bit stressed and then did the breathing, it felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders.
The practices helped me to feel more grounded and in control as well as more calm and less jittery. I was able to turn my thoughts around and I could remind myself that I didn’t need to know everything. My anxiety decreased when talking to new people and getting what I needed from people. I was also able to feel less guilty about taking breaks when work wasn’t done.
Ms. Pendleton's meditation has been helpful, fun, and a good tool to have during challenging times. I used the "Overcoming Performance Anxiety" meditation for the first time before a big speech, and I continue to use it before all of my tests. Throughout the entire practice I felt engaged and felt my mind and body returning to a calm state. I applied the breath technique until I began my speech, and I have continued to apply it before athletic competitions. The use of music got me excited to speak, and it was such a cool experience and feeling. I was terrified to speak in front of a crowd and after the meditation I was ready, excited, and in tune with what my body needed. This is something I will be using for my upcoming exams as well.
I was a student in Aiyana Pendleton's ninth-grade math class. It was nearing finals week, and Ms. Pendleton offered to host a meditation. The night before finals, we all gathered in a zoom room to do a meditation. Honestly, it was amazing. I had been stressed out all day, but during the meditation, my mind went silent The method of breathing was so relaxing and mind clearing. When it was over, I was much less stressed out than I was before. The next day, my finals were the best final I had ever had. Not only my scores, but also in terms of being able to not be extremely stressed out all day!
Aiyana's sound baths have been so incredibly helpful to me. They’ve given me a way to wind down after stressful days. They truly are a healing experience. I feel like in today’s world it’s hard to take a few minutes for yourself, and I am allowed to do that during the sound bath. They ground me and allow me to tap into what my body is feeling. When Ms Pendleton plays, you to feel the vibration of the instruments and that has been one of my favorite parts.
During the sound bath, I felt like my body was melting into the ground, and all the germs and negative stuff just flowed away. Afterwards I felt fresh and new.
